Hammond Students Learn in Technology Rich Classrooms
As you may know, Hammond Elementary received one of eight
state grants to improve student learning, using technology in the
classroom. These classrooms have some of
the most cutting edge educational technologies available providing
This grant is primarily focused on math and is being
implemented in three classrooms, grades three through five, as well as
an additional writing classroom in the fifth grade. Nearly every Hammond 3rd,
4th, and 5th grader will have access to a technology rich
learning environment!
Some of the technologies o purchase 60 netbook computers; enough for
every pair of students to work collaboratively.
Students will also be learning using SmartSynch software. This allows
teachers to instruct and manage class sets of student laptops while providing
differentiated instruction for small learning teams, or an entire class. It is truly amazing to see students so
engaged in learning and inspired to get back to class.
